About the Journal

Milkiyah was established in 2022. It is an opened access journal published in February and August with six articles in each issue. All contents are freely available without charges to the user.

The journal focuses on Islamic Economic Law in addressing contemporary socio-economic, governance, environmental, sustainability, and public policy issues.

Islamic Economic Law constitutes the journal's primary field of inquiry, encompassing legal aspects of economic transactions, business activities, finance, property rights, and socio-economic relations from Islamic legal perspectives. The journal also promotes scholarly discussions on Environmental Governance and Sustainability, examining how Islamic legal principles contribute to environmental protection, natural resource management, climate responsibility, and sustainable development.

In addition, the journal welcomes studies on Governance and Public Policy, particularly those addressing regulatory frameworks, institutional governance, and policy-making processes through Islamic legal approaches. Special attention is given to Islamic Social Finance, including zakat, waqf, philanthropy, and other mechanisms that advance social welfare, economic justice, and community development. Through these areas, the journal seeks to advance contemporary Islamic legal thought in responding to emerging socio-economic, environmental, and governance challenges in both local and global contexts.
